Coaching

Coaching isn’t about optimizing you for someone else’s agenda — it’s about helping you reclaim your authentic self and build the life and career that serves your values, not systems that exploit them.

My coaching approach is grounded in critical consciousness and trauma-informed practice, recognizing that individual struggles often reflect broader structural inequities. Whether you’re recovering from religious trauma, navigating workplace issues, or seeking authentic leadership development, our work together will honor your lived experience while building skills for sustainable change.

Understanding Liberation-Focused Coaching

Traditional coaching often reinforces existing power structures by focusing on individual “optimization” without questioning the systems that created the problems in the first place. My approach differs fundamentally:

Instead of helping you fit better into oppressive systems, we work on building your capacity to resist and transform those conditions while caring for your well-being.

Rather than individual performance metrics, we focus on authentic development that honors your full humanity and values.

We examine power dynamics and structural barriers that impact your situation, not just personal behaviors or mindset issues.

Specialized Coaching Areas

Adverse Religious Experience Coaching

Supporting survivors of religious trauma, SOGICE such as conversion therapy, and high-control environments in reclaiming their identities and building lives of integrity and joy.

This isn’t about “getting over it” or returning to some imagined baseline. It’s about integrating your experiences in ways that honor your survival while opening space for authentic flourishing.

Career Transition Coaching

Navigating career changes that align with your values and authentic identity.

This includes practical support for career pivots alongside deeper work on reclaiming your professional identity.

Executive & Leadership Coaching

Developing leaders who understand their responsibility to challenge oppressive structures rather than simply maintain them. This includes examining privilege, power, and the ethical dimensions of organizational decision-making.

For leaders seeking to create genuinely upward-moving environments that center worker dignity and democratic participation.

I love working with folks in nonprofits and in affirming faith-based environments, too!

LGBTQ+ Coaching

Queer folx bring their own dynamics and challenges to coaching. Whether you’re a student, nonprofit worker, or someone navigating a new identity, I provide affirming coaching to those in the LGBT community.

Personal Development Coaching

Supporting authentic personal growth that isn’t driven by productivity culture or self-optimization rhetoric. This work centers on developing critical consciousness, emotional regulation, and authentic relationships.

Recovery Coaching

My primary focus in coaching is Trauma and Recovery. No matter what you’ve survived, from workplace misconduct to Spiritual Abuse, I’m here to help, be a part of a “care team,” or provide resources for your journey.

Religious Trauma Coaching

Re-tell your story, gain a deeper sense of self and autonomy, and celebrate your victories apart from Coercive Control and High Control Behavior and Environments.

My Coaching Philosophy: Praxis and Liberation

Drawing from liberation frameworks and critical pedagogy, my coaching integrates analysis with praxis —helping you understand how broader systems impact your individual experience while building skills for meaningful change.

“Psychoeducation” in Critical Consciousness Development

  • Understanding how oppressive systems shape individual experiences
  • Developing structural analysis of personal and professional challenges
  • Building capacity for systemic resilience while maintaining personal wellbeing
  • Cultivating authentic values independent of dominant cultural narratives

Trauma-Informed Foundation

  • Recognizing that trauma responses are intelligent adaptations to harmful conditions
  • Honoring survivor wisdom and lived experience expertise
  • Building emotional regulation skills without pathologizing natural responses to oppression
  • Creating safety and choice in the coaching relationship

Intersectional Awareness

  • Centering how multiple identity factors shape experience — and how understanding liberation-focused (not performative) Diversity, Equity & Inclusion can help
  • Understanding privilege and marginalization in coaching contexts
  • Building cultural humility and responsiveness to diverse backgrounds
  • Connecting personal growth with social justice commitments

Investment Information

Coaching fees are structured to balance accessibility with sustainability. Sliding scale options available, with full-fee clients supporting reduced-rate slots — each according to their need and means!

Standard rates reflect the intensive, specialized nature of this work and my advanced training in trauma-informed and liberation-focused approaches. This investment supports not just our sessions but ongoing professional development, specialized training, and community organizing work. I’m a trauma-informed professional, sociologist, and survivor of misconduct — because of this robust training and background, I believe equity involves, bluntly, paying folks for their skills and experience.
