Faith communities have the potential to be powerful forces for liberation and healing — but too often they reproduce oppressive systems. My approach draws from liberation-oriented Sociology of Religion and Theology and Religious Studies and critical analysis to help religious organizations align their practices with their spiritual values at their best.
As someone with deep understanding of Religious Fundamentalism, Adverse Religious Experiences, and more, I support faith organizations in creating cultures of justice, inclusion, and healing.
Primarily, with faith-based institutions, I offer:
- Organizationally-focused Nonprofit Consulting and HR Consulting & Organizational Development
- Executive & Leadership Coaching
- LGBTQ+ Inclusion, with individual faith leaders, individual places of worship or coalitions, or at the denominational level — your church or worship community can craft fully-affirming spaces!
- Workplace Investigations, to ensure that potential abuse is prevented, and to offer fair, Trauma-Informed Practice that is aware of power dynamics, coercive control, and the role of Discourse Analysis in incidents. I also help organizations craft HR Policy, for safe environments, conflicts of interest prevention, and proper boundaries for faith leaders.
- Mediation and Conflict Resolution, informed by Restorative Practices to help justice prevail.
